Located just outside of Trumansburg, NY in the hamlet of Covert, The Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast is part of the Covert Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Records indicate that the inn was built in 1802 as a farmhouse for a Mr. E. Cole.

Eat Local

Wake up to locally-roasted coffee, homemade baked goods and granola, and farm fresh vegetables, meats, eggs, and dairy. The Finger Lakes region is overflowing with small farms and businesses growing and producing delicious foods, and the Black Walnut is committed to sharing the local abundance in our daily breakfast menu.

Our menu rotates daily with the seasons, and our guests love the sweet potato frittata, baked French toast, homemade granola, and black raspberries from the onsite garden when they’re in season.

We are happy to accommodate special dietary needs; gluten, dairy, and meat-free options are always available. Please let us know at booking!
